My research is motivated by my major interest in behaviour -focally i study bird migration. How did this fascinating behaviour evolve and how is it coordinated and regulated at the molecular level? I link behavioural observations and accurate phenotype characterisations in the wild to underlying molecular mechanisms and genetic architecture and evaluate this in an evolutionary framework.
