Christiane Timmel

I am a chemist at the Univeristy of Oxford with interests in Optical and Electron Spin Resonance Technqiues. I am particularly fascinated by light induced spin polarisation phenomena as they occur in the blue light photosensitive cryptochrome proteins or indeed in supramolecular materials such as porphyrin wires or on polyacene materials. I run the Centre for Advanced Electron Spin Resonance in Oxford of which I am a co-director and co-founder and a multidisciplinary research group with a wide range of backgrounds from chemistry to biochemistry and physics.
